Abstract

Günümüzde felsefe çalışmalarında temel disiplin sorunu üzerinde durulmaması, akımların çokluğunun neden olduğu bir keyfilik görünümündedir. Parçalı çalışmalar, birer ayrıntı çalışması olarak önemlidir, fakat bunlar kendi başlarına, dağınık konular olarak bırakılırsa, bütünsel kavrayışlara ulaşılamaz. Felsefenin, başlangıçlarından günümüze kadar çok çeşitli şekillerde tanımlanması, onu kanaatler düzeyine indirmez. Önemli olan, çeşitlilikte birliği gösterecek bir temel üzerinde durmaktır. Bu temeli ancak ontoloji sağlayabilir, çünkü disiplinlerin sorun öbeklerine yönelen temel soru daima varlık dayanaklarını araştırma doğrultusundadır, -bilginin, inancın, değerlerin, sanatın vd. Tanımlar birbirinden ne kadar uzak görünseler de, hatta ontolojiyi unutup bilgi teorisini, dil teorisini, kavram çözümlemesini öne çıkarsalar da, sonunda ontolojiye dayandırılabilirler. Örneği, Wittgenstein’ın, Moore’un felsefe anlayışları hayattan, eylemden uzak görünürler. Aslında onlar felsefenin özüne uygundurlar, kaba saba, gelip geçici eylem reçeteleri değildirler. Ontolojinin bugünkü görevi, insanlığın geleceğini genelliğinde güncel, güncelliğinde genel düşüncelerle hazırlamaktır

The Basic Discipline of Philosophy: Ontology

Abstract

Philosophical studies today do not concern themselves with the problem of fundamental discipline, an attitude which seems to be influenced by arbitrary selections of standpoints due to the plurality of movements. Studies in part are important as studies in detail, but if they are left by themselves as dispersed topics, conceptual integrities can never be reached. Philosophy has been defined in a great variety of ways since its beginnings, but this fact does not reduce it to the level of mere opnion. What is important is to stand on a fundament which shows unity in variety. Only ontology is able to secure this fundament, because the basic question directed to the problem groups of disciplines is always concerned with the fundaments of their being,-of knowledge, of belief, of values, of art etc. Definitions may seem to be far away from each other, and they may even forget ontology and may push on the foreground the theory of knowledge, the theory of language or the enterprise for conceptual analysis; but all of them can eventually be set aright on ontological grounds. For example, Wittgenstein’s or Moore’s understandings of philosophy seem at first sight to be disconnected from life, from action. In reality they are connected to the essence of philosophy. They are not vulgar, transient prospectuses for action. The present task of ontology is to prepare the future of humanity by furnishing ideas actual in their generality and general in their actuality.
