Abstract

Descartes defines philosophy as a struggle to obtain wisdom. For this reason, Descartes philosophizes in order to obtain the knowledge of wisdom and to show that by using this knowledge it is possible for a person to organize his/her life and the world s/he lives in. And this aim shows that the problem of Descartes’ philosophy is wisdom. The reason why Descartes puts the search for wisdom as his philosophy’s problem is that he thinks that every person needs wisdom. According to Descartes, the knowledge of wisdom is the only knowledge that a person can use in all fields that s/he needs in his/her life. The meaning of this for Descartes’ philosophy is establishing a person’s whole life on this knowledge. In order to achieve this establishment, Descartes builds his philosophy on the concept of cogito and dualism. The issue of why Descartes made the wisdom his philosophy’s subject, how he defines it and how he fulfills its content is important to understand the reason for why the concept of cogito and dualism were used in this philosophy. The aim of this paper is to try to put forward the effects of the concept of wisdom on Descartes’ philosophy’s method, its functioning, the concept of cogito and dualist philosophy

DESCARTES FELSEFESİNDE BİLGELİK

Abstract

Descartes, felsefeyi bilgeliği elde etme uğraşı olarak tanımlar. Descartes felsefesi, bilgeliğin bilgisini elde etmek ve bu bilgiyle insanın, yaşamını ve yaşadığı dünyayı düzenlemesinin olanağını göstermek amacı için yapılan bir felsefedir. Bu da Descartes felsefesinde sorunun bilgelik olduğunu gösterir. Descartes’ın, felsefesinin sorununu bilgelik araştırması olarak koymasının nedeni, her insanın bilgeliğe ihtiyacı olduğunu düşünmesidir. Descartes’a göre, bilgeliğin bilgisi, insanın, yaşamında ihtiyaç duyduğu bütün alanlarda kullanabileceği tek bilgidir. Bunun Descartes felsefesi için anlamı, insanın bütün yaşamının bu bilgi üzerine kurulmasıdır. Descartes felsefesinde bu kurmayı gerçekleştirmek için, bilimler sınıflandırması cogito kavramı ve düalizmi kullanır. Descartes’ın bilgeliği, neden felsefesinin sorunu yaptığı, nasıl tanımladığı ve içeriğini nasıl oluşturduğu konusu, bu felsefede cogito kavramı ve düalizmin kullanılma nedenini anlamak açısından önemlidir. Bu yazının amacı; bilgelik kavramının Descartes felsefesinin yöntemi, işleyişi, cogito kavramı ve düalist felsefesi üzerindeki etkilerini ortaya koymaya çalışmaktır
