Paul Weiss, who was born in 1901 and dies in 2002, is an American thinker. He is also the founder of The Review of Metaphysics ve Metaphysical Society of America. After working at different kinds of jobs, Weiss enrolled in City College of New York in 1924. He took free philosophy courses at nights in this College from which he graduated with an honor degree in 1927 and consequently he got into Harvard University from which he earned his doctorate degree in philosophy in 1929. He studied with Étienne Gilson, William Ernest Hocking, C. I. Lewis, Ralph Barton Perry and Alfred North Whitehead at Harvard Univercity. For Weiss, “Philosophy of History” is more able than philosophy and history in terms of providing with knowledge and belief since it is more empirical than pure philosophy albeit it does less research and it is more systematic than history albeit it is not detailed and concrete. This paper is interested in setting forth the ideas of Paul Weiss, a student of Whitehead, regarding history to the reader because Weiss named the history written and lived apart from the traditional double meaning of history known history as ontology and history as epistemology.
The Review of Metaphysics ve Metaphysical Society of America 'nın kurucusudur. Çok değişik işlerde çalıştıktan sonra 1924 senesinde City College of New York'a kayıt olmuştur.
