ON THE EDGE OF HUMANISM: CAN HEIDEGGER’S DASEIN BE “HOME” FOR PICO’S “PLACELESS” HUMAN?

Year 2021, Issue: 31, 591 - 612, 12.05.2021

Abstract

This article aims to show the traditional and essential relationship between philosophy of Pico and some ideas of Sartre and Heidegger which they have constituted with an existentialist perspective. For this, firstly, it analyses the discussions in Humanism about Existentialism which Sartre and Heidegger have argued. Secondly, it shows how to make a comparison between Pico and Heidegger through Sartre’s ideas about Existentialism and Humanism. This comparison is made by considering three important concepts: Humanism, dignity and homelessness in the Nature. This helps us to create a new reading on the relation between Heidegger and Sartre, subsequently Humanism and Existentialism by calling Pico into the discussion. Thus, the purpose of this article is to trace potential answers for this question: Can Heidegger’s Dasein be “home” for the Pico’s “placeless” human?

HÜMANİZMİN SINIRINDA: PICO’NUN “YERSİZ” İNSANINA HEIDEGGER’İN DASEIN’I “YURT” OLABİLİR Mİ?

Year 2021, Issue: 31, 591 - 612, 12.05.2021
