Tarih biliminin nitelikleri şunlardır: (a) Yazı: Tarih yazı ile başlar. (b) Felsefe: Felsefi tarih bilimi birleştiricidir, parçacı değil. (c) Evrensellik: Evrensel tarih felsefi tarih ve bütünsel dünya tarihidir. (d) Teleoloji: Tarihin amacı vardır, tarih Tanrı’nın planıdır. (e) Şimdicilik: Tarih tüm zamanları kapsar, ancak merkezde duran zaman birimi şimdiki zamandır. (f) Döngüsellik ve İlerlemecilik: Tarih neden-sonuç ilişkisinde döngüsel ve ilerlemecidir.
For Schiller, the field of historical science is the entire ethical field, and its subject is civilized man. Schiller does not discuss the science of history systematically. However, he talks about the essential qualities of historical science. The aim of this study is to show the qualities of historical science in Schiller and to show his historical science more systematically through these qualities. The characteristics of historical science are as follows: (a) Writing: History begins with writing. (b) Philosophy: The philosophical science of history is unitary, not fragmentary. (c) Universality: Universal history is philosophical history and holistic world history. (d) Teleology: History has purpose, history is God's plan. (e) Presentism: History encompasses all time, but the unit of time that stands at the center is the present. (f) Cyclicality and Progressivism: History is cyclical and progressive in its cause-effect relationship.
