Special Issue Policy

General Principles

Fiscaoeconomia may publish special issues focusing on specific themes upon the decision of the Editorial Board. The journal reserves the right to publish a maximum of one special issue per year.

Special issues are designed around topics that are aligned with the aims and scope of the journal and that have high academic relevance and contribution potential.

Special Issue Proposal Process

Special issue proposals may be submitted by researchers, academic communities, or organizers of scientific events (such as symposiums and conferences).

Proposals must be submitted via the DergiPark system and should include the following information:

  • Title and scope of the special issue

  • Academic significance and contribution potential of the theme

  • (If applicable) proposed authors or contributors

  • Proposed timeline

  • (If applicable) details of the related scientific event

All proposals are evaluated by the Editorial Board, and a call for papers may be announced for accepted proposals.

Special Issue Theme and Scope

Each special issue:

  • Must be aligned with the aims and scope of the journal

  • Should focus on a current and original research topic

  • Should have the potential for multidisciplinary contributions

  • Should encourage national and international academic collaboration

Special issues typically consist of a number of research articles determined by the Editorial Board and may be supported by editorial introductions or evaluation papers when necessary.

Guest Editors

For special issues, one or more guest editors may be appointed when deemed necessary.

Guest editors are selected based on the following criteria:

  • Academic qualifications and publication record

  • Level of expertise in the relevant field

  • Previous editorial experience

Guest editors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the thematic relevance of submitted manuscripts

  • Coordinating the submission and review process

  • Monitoring the timely and proper progress of the peer review process

However, the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of all manuscripts rests with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board.

Submission, Peer Review, and Evaluation Process

All manuscripts submitted to special issues are subject to the journal’s standard publication procedures.

  • All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process

  • Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers

  • Evaluation criteria and ethical standards are identical to those of regular issues

  • No preferential treatment or different procedures apply to special issue submissions

Support from section editors may be sought when necessary.

Language and Formatting Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to special issues may be written in Turkish or English.

All manuscripts must comply with the journal’s formatting and writing guidelines. When necessary, guest editors may determine page limits or content-related adjustments.

Ethical Principles and Transparency

Special issues must fully comply with the journal’s publication ethics.

  • Objectivity and transparency are essential throughout all processes

  • Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed

  • Peer review and editorial processes are documented

Open Access and Fee Policy

A submission fee is charged for manuscripts submitted to the journal.

The fee policy is based on the following principles:

  • The submission fee is collected at the time of submission in order for the manuscript to be considered for evaluation

  • This fee is non-refundable, regardless of the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript

  • The peer review and evaluation process is conducted independently of the author’s payment

  • Payment of the fee does not guarantee acceptance of the manuscript

  • The journal does not charge any Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts

  • Current fee information is clearly stated on the journal’s website

The same fee policy applies to all issues, including special issues.

Final Authority

The final authority in all processes related to special issues rests with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board, including:

  • Acceptance or rejection of manuscripts

  • Publication planning

  • Editorial decisions
