Writing Rules

Style Guidelines: The journal includes articles written in Turkish or foreign languages on the

subjects and styles indicated above. Authors submit in Turkish follow the spelling rules accepted

by Turkish Language Society. Authors themselves are responsible for the spelling of their articles.

Articles are expected be typed in in MS Word program with the font Times New Roman. Margins

setting should be 3 cms on the top, 1,5 cms at the bottom, 1,5 cms on the right and left sides.

a) Names of the author

Names of author/s, their institution and department, and their e-mail addresses should be added.

b) Titles and the text

The title, both in the language of the article and in English is given in capital letters, 11 font

size, bold and center-aligned.

Section headings are laid out without indent, bold and in capital letters, center-aligned, in Times

New Roman, 11 font size, 12 pel space before paragraph and 0 pel space after paragraph,

in 1,15 line space (headings should not be numbered). First paragraph after the main title

should be typed without indent, in Times New Roman, 11 font size, justified-aligned, 3 pel

space before and after paragraph, in 1,15 line space.

Second and later paragraphs following section and sub-section titles should be typed 1 cm

indented, in Times New Roman, 11 font size, justified-aligned, 3 pel space before and after

paragraph, in 1,15 line space.

Table titles should be typed in Times New Roman, 11 font size and table texts should be typed

in Times New Roman with the font size 10.

c) Abstract and Keywords

The article should include an abstract in Turkish, briefly expressing the content of the article in

maximum 100 words and a second abstract, accompanying this, in English in maximum 100

words. Following the Turkish and English abstracts, it should include key words (maximum

5 words).

d) Quotations

When it exceeds 5 lines it is indented 1 cm more than the paragraph indentation and the font

size should be 1 point smaller. When less than 5 lines, it should be laid out in italic. In addition,

all emphasis should be indicated with the italic style.

e) Footnotes

Footnotes should be in 9 font size and single space. The paragraph indent should be 1 cm and

justified. There should not be any line separator for the footnotes. The references inside the

text shall be given in the footnotes beginning from number 1. Besides these, there should be no

references inside the text. For the sources given in the footnotes, the book and the journal titles

shall be in italics, the article names should be given inside the quotation marks as normal. A

full publication information of the source should be shown when it appears for the first time in

the text, then abbreviations like ibid should be used. If more than one book and article by the

same author is used, after the first usage of the second source, the surname of the author, then

a full or shortened name for the book or article should be used. In the case of references with

more than one author, all authors shall be written at the first instance and given in the shortened

style afterwards.

f) Bibliography

Sources should be typed without indent, in Times New Roman, 10 font size, 3 pel space before

and after paragraph, in 1.15 line space, justified-aligned in 0.75 cm.

Sources should be given according to international bibliographic standards. If the sources are

by two authors, ‘-’ should be added before the last name of the second author; if they are by

more than two authors, the ‘-’ should be added before the last name of the last author.
