Peri-implantitiste Tedavi Yönetimi

Abstract

Dental implantlar, dişsiz bölgelerde diş kökü gibi fonksiyon görmek üzere tasarlanmış biyouyumlu materyallerdir. Dental implant uygulamalarının son yıllarda artmasıyla birlikte implant çevresi hastalıkların görülme olasılığı da artmıştır. Peri-implant hastalık yalnızca mukoza enflamasyonu ile sınırlı kaldığında peri-implant mukozitis olarak adlandırılırken bu duruma peri-implant kemik kaybı da eklendiğinde hastalık peri-implantitis adını alır. Hastalığın etiyolojisinde temelde mikrobiyal biyofilm rol oynar. Bununla birlikte, implantın yüzey özellikleri, pozisyonu, üst yapısı, yetersiz oral hijyen, sigara ve/veya alkol tüketimi, sistemik hastalıklar ve stres gibi risk faktörleri de peri-implant hastalıklarla ilişkilendirilmiştir. Bu derlemede amaç, peri-implantitis tedavisine yönelik cerrahi olan ve olmayan yaklaşımlar ile yapılan tedavilerin etkinliklerini değerlendirmektir.

Abstract

Dental implants are biocompatible materials designed to function like tooth roots in edentulous areas. With the increase in dental implant applications in recent years, the likelihood of peri-implant diseases has also increased. When peri-implant disease is limited to mucosal inflammation, it is called peri-implant mucositis. When peri-implant bone loss is added to this condition, the disease is called peri-implantitis. Microbial biofilm plays a fundamental role in the etiology of the disease. However, risk factors such as implant surface properties, implant position, superstructure of implant, inadequate oral hygiene, smoking and/or alcohol consumption, systemic diseases and stress have also been associated with peri-implant diseases. The aim of this review is to evaluate the efficacy of therapies with surgical and non-surgical approaches for the treatment of peri-implantitis.
