Principles of Writing a Manuscript
1. Title: It must be a title that fits the content; it should be written in bold and capital letters, with the English equivalent written in small letters underneath the title.
2. Name and address of the author: The author of the article should clearly state his / her first name and surname, the institution he/she is working for, and the academic title. The author should notify the Editorial Board of the full address, telephone number, and e-mail address where he/she could be contacted. The name of the author should be written under the title, the job title, institution address, and e-mail information should be given with a starry footnote after the surname and should be placed at the bottom of the first page.
3. Abstracts in Turkish and English (minimum 150 and maximum 250 words), as well as Turkish and English keywords (5 to 7 words), should be included at the beginning of the articles. The abstract should not include references, figures, or tables. Abstracts and keywords should be italicized and written in Times New Roman font at a size of 9 points.
4. Main text: Manuscripts should be written in MS Word 98 and higher version, Times New Roman font, 10 point size, and 1.5 line spacing.
The article's main text should contain no more than 7750 words, including tables, appendices, and footnotes. This restriction does not apply to article titles, abstracts, keywords, or bibliographies. Articles exceeding this length limit may be accepted for up to 8000 words with a maximum word count of approximately 3% at the editor's discretion. Articles with a word count greater than 8000 are returned without reference to the editorial decision.
Quotations should be given in italics and quotation marks; quotations less than five lines should be written between the lines, and quotations longer than five lines should be written one centimeter from the right and left of the line, in blocks, and with a single line spacing.
5. Citation: References within the text should be in parentheses and include the author's surname, the date, and, if applicable, the page number: (Tekin 1968); (Ercilasun 2005: 45). If there is more than one work of the author published in the same year (Garkavets 2003a, Garkavets 2003b); If more than one source is referenced (Clauson 1972: 35, Korkmaz 2003: 55, Türkmen 2006: 12). In publications with more than one author, only the first author's name should be written in the text, and "et al." abbreviation should be used: (Ercilasun et al. 1989).

Footnotes should be used for clarification purposes only and placed at the bottom of the page. When referencing any internet address, these addresses should be listed among the sources, along with the date of download:
(https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/download/article-file/686748 (12.04.2022)
6. 6. Bibliography: References should be listed alphabetically at the end of the article. If an author has more than one publication, the publications should be listed chronologically; publications by an author published in the same year should be listed together (2006a, 2006b). The following articles in the journal GAZI TURKOLOGY RESEARCHES (from now on GT) define the path to follow in terms of publication ethics, research ethics, and legal/special permission.
AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES
 GT accepts articles that have not been previously published. Acceptance of papers presented at scientific meetings is possible if this is specified.
 The author(s) are solely responsible for the articles submitted to GT. In this case, the author(s) must declare that the articles they submitted to the journal have never been published or evaluated for publication elsewhere. Articles must adhere to national and international publication and research ethics. Additionally, the author(s) are responsible for checking the article for plagiarism using Turnitin or iThenticate and submitting a similarity report to the journal via the article application. Articles with a similarity rate of 20% or greater will be excluded from evaluation. If the editor deems it necessary, manuscripts are subjected to a plagiarism check (Turnitin or iThenticate).
 Before the article is submitted to GT, the authors must be finalized. It is unacceptable to include the names of individuals who did not contribute to the study in the article submitted to the journal (gift authorship) or to omit the names of those who did contribute (ghost authorship). It is not possible to propose changing the author responsibilities of a work that has already begun the evaluation process (such as adding an author, changing the order of the authors, or removing an author). The views and opinions expressed in the articles are solely those of the author(s) and do not reflect the views of our journal; the articles bear sole scientific and legal responsibility.
 Copyrighted material such as photographs, tables, figures, or other contributing quotations to be included in the articles in the journal can only be published with valid permission and copyright approval.
The authors are responsible for including the author's name, title, institution, e-mail address, and ORCID information/information about the author(s) following the journal's publication principles and for ensuring that the information is accurate and belongs to the appropriate author (s).

If the journal requests raw data from the author(s) regarding their articles as part of the evaluation process, the author(s) is required to provide the editorial board and scientific committee with the requested data and information. The author(s) who discover a significant scientific error or inconsistency in their published article is/are also required to immediately contact the editorship to retract or correct the article.

In the following instances in which legal/special permission is required for articles submitted to GT, an author permission document is requested. In the articles to be published, it is stated in the title footnote whether or not an ethical committee, legal, or special permission is required. If these permissions are required, the author or authors are requested to clearly state which institution, on what date, and with which decision or issue number the permission was obtained, and this information is published as an "Annex" at the end of the article. The author(s) must have a document demonstrating their right to use the data, the necessary permissions for the research/analysis, or the consent of the experimented subjects in this context. The author(s) are responsible for adhering to the criteria outlined in Article 4 of the Interuniversity Board's Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive regarding "Acts Contrary to Scientific Research and Publication Ethics." ETHICS COMMITTEE PERMISSION AND TUBITAK ULAKBİM TR INDEX RULES:
Within the scope of the rules regarding the Ethical Principles announced by TR Index in 2020, it is important for all authors to pay attention to the following issues: Studies that require permission from the Ethics Committee are as follows:
* All kinds of research are conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using survey, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment, and interview techniques.
* If the use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes is sent to GT, the official Ethics Committee permission documents must be sent as an attachment to the journal.
Although the studies presented in scientific meetings and the studies that form part of the theses are not accepted in GT as of 2021; It is obligatory to obtain a permission letter from the author/advisor for thesis publications and from the symposium board for the papers for the thesis publications for the studies that are believed to have a scientific contribution, with the permission of the editor, provided that a footnote is written that the presented paper or the written/defended thesis has been developed.
Authors cannot have their work submitted to more than one journal concurrently. Each application can be initiated once the preceding one has been completed. GT does not accept works that have been published in another journal.
The author(s) are responsible for completing the corrections and improvements in a complete, explanatory, and timely manner, being aware of the fact that the requested correction and improvement suggestions are objective and increase the originality of the work.
REPONSIBILITIES OF THE REVIEWERS
After accepting the request to review, reviewers are expected to adhere to all applicable ethical principles and rules, as well as international reviewing standards.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo blind peer review. After the editors have evaluated and technically examined the submitted manuscripts, they are anonymously sent to two reviewers who are specialists in their disciplines. The author's name is not given to the referees, and the referee's name is not communicated to the writers. Reports are retained for a period of five years.

Reviewers must ensure that they will not reveal any information about the articles they review, whether it is the entire piece or only a portion of it.
Peer reviews are often conducted on the basis of the studies' originality, method, adherence to ethical standards, consistency in the reporting of findings and outcomes, and an evaluation of the literature.
COPYRIGHT TRANSFER
To ensure the mutual benefit and protection of authors and publishers, authors must grant our journal written permission to publish their work prior to publication.
A copyright transfer agreement form is issued to the author(s) whose work has been accepted and is to be delivered to the referee via the journal's e-mail. When the author(s) sign and submit this form to the editor, they are deemed to have granted permission, and the article's reviewing procedure is initiated. (This is accomplished by filling out and signing both the Turkish and English pages and e-mailing them in PDF or JPG format to gaziturkiyat@gmail.com.)
PROCESS AND RESULTS OF PUBLICATION EVALUATION
The reviewers are allowed five weeks to complete the evaluation procedure. Authors must complete corrections requested by reviewers or editors within 15 days, in accordance with the "correction instructions." Reviewers can analyze a study's corrections and determine whether they are suitable, or they can request several corrections if necessary.
If one of the reviewers provides a favorable evaluation and the other provides a negative one, the article is forwarded to a third reviewer. The authors revise their works in light of the Editorial Board's and reviewers' criticisms and suggestions. Authors who take a position on this issue may prepare a report outlining their arguments and submit it to the Editorial Board. On request, authors may receive a copy of articles that were not deemed eligible for publication.
The editors conduct a two-week evaluation of the reviewers' opinions. The editorial board makes the final decision whether or not to present it to the editorial board due to this review.
PUBLICATION POLICY
Accepted manuscripts as a consequence of the GT assessment process include the following: plagiarism checking, bibliography editing, submission and citation checking, layout and typesetting, assigning the DOI number, and opening the manuscript for early reading.
Early view articles are published in the volume and issue number designated by the editorial board.
GT has no source of income as it does not charge article processing fees (review fee or printing fee) and subscription fees for accessing articles.
No royalties are paid to the author(s) for articles published in GT.
All articles published in GT are also available as open access in full text at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/gaziturkiyat.
GT is committed to the transmission of current and innovative knowledge. In this regard, studies that have been accepted following the completion of the evaluation stage and whose post-acceptance processes have been completed are published electronically in advance. Early view studies are published with the volume and page count determined by the editorial board and are then removed from early view. Works in the early stages of development may not represent the final form that will be published in regular numbers. Minor changes might be made to the article before it is published.
