The Importance of Ecotourism in the Sustainable Rural Development: Sample of the Province Tokat

Abstract

In the study; interview technique among the qualitative research methods, participating observations and the document examinations were made with the family ; that is the first sample of eco-tourism in Tokat; living in Küçükağa Farm which is in Sulugöl Village in Niksar Township and the predisposition to the farm for the eco-tourism, its problems and solution offers were presented. The eco-tourism potential of Tokat province may meet were presented with SWOT analysis method. In the conclusion of the research; it was seen that Küçükağa Farm had got the sufficient potential about the eco-tourism, nature-friendly agriculture is made, it has got the suitable structure for the ecologic and cultural tissue, the family started this work willingly, consciously and had the necessary training and their social necessities such as communicating with the people ; can be provided via this way. It was found out that the farm could be developed with the supports of local governments ,sectors, academists ,nongovernmental organizations etc. and it could expert more with the necessary introduction, advertisement and financial support. In the result of the Swot analysis, it was seen that the natural beauties of Tokat province is sufficient about the historical and cultural features’ ecotourism potential; it was emerged that the availability of this potential to be evaluated is devoted to the advertisement and introduction of Tokat province, the encouragement of the investments and providing eco-tourism consciousness in the society

Sürdürülebilir Kırsal Kalkınmada Ekoturizmin Önemi: Tokat İli Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Tokat’ta ekoturizmin ilk örneği olan Niksar ilçesi Sulugöl köyünde bulunan Küçükağa Çiftliğinde yaşayan aile ile nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme tekniği, katılımlı gözlem ve döküman incelemeleri yapılmış olup çiftliğin ekoturizme yatkınlığı, sorunları ve çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Ayrıca, Tokat ilinin ekoturizm potansiyeli, SWOT analiziyle ortaya konulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda, Küçükağa Çiftliğinin ekoturizm açısından yeterli potansiyele sahip olduğu, doğa dostu tarım yapıldığı, ekolojik ve kültürel dokuya uygun yapıda olduğu, ailenin bu işe istekli, bilinçli olarak ve gerekli eğitimi alarak başladığı ve insanlarla iletişim kurma gibi sosyal ihtiyaçlarını bu yolla karşılayabildiği görülmüştür. Çiftliğin yerel yönetimler, sektörler, akademisyenler, sivil toplum kuruluşları vb. destekleriyle ilerleyeceği, gerekli tanıtım, reklam ve maddi destek ile bu alanda daha da uzmanlaşacağı tespit edilmiştir. Swot analizi sonucu; Tokat ilinin doğal, tarihi ve kültürel özelliklerinin ekoturizm potansiyeli açısından yeterli olduğu görülmüş olup, bu potansiyelin değerlendirilebilmesinin Tokat ilinin reklam ve tanıtımının yapılmasına, yatırımların teşvik edilmesine ve toplumda ekoturizm bilincinin oluşturulmasına bağlı olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.
