ALP KAYAĞINA YÖNELİK ALAN TESTLERİ İLE BÜYÜK SLALOM PERFORMANS ZAMANI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ

Year 2005, Volume: 10 Issue: 4, 41 - 48, 01.10.2005

Abstract

yaş arası altısı erkek olmak üzere toplam on beş kayak milli takımı sporcuları
high box test, hexagonal obstacle test, dikey sıçrama, MaxVO

THE RELATION BETWEEN GIANT SLALOM PERFORMANCE AND FIELD TESTS FOR ALPINE SKIING

Year 2005, Volume: 10 Issue: 4, 41 - 48, 01.10.2005

Abstract

The
purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between high box test and
hexagonal obstacle test values and giant slalom performance time and also to
compare the values obtained from elite Turkish skiers with the values given for
foreign skiers in literature. Fifteen skiers from National Ski Team, six of
whom are boys aged between 12-15, participated in this study. Athletes were
applied the followings; 20-m shuttle run test, flexibility, vertical jump,
giant slalom performance time, high box and hexagonal obstacle test. While a
negative correlation was observed at a significance level of 0,05 between giant
slalom performance times and high box test (r = - 0,621), MaxVO2 (r = - 0,538),
flexibility (r = - 0,539), a positive correlation was observed at a
significance level of 0,05 with hexagonal obstacle test (r = 0,556). Moreover,
a negative correlation at a significance level of 0,01 was observed between
giant slalom performance time and vertical jump value (r = - 0,717). These
data, we obtained show that with high box test, hexagonal obstacle test,
vertical jump, MaxVO2 and flexibility test, giant slalom performances of alpine
skiers can be predicted. And also, it can be concluded that high box test and
hexagonal obstacle tests can reliably be used in the selection of those with an
aptitude for alpine skiing.
