Abstract
The main objective of this study is to determine the relationship between roller ski sprint exercise and anaerobic power in cross country skiers. Ten volunteered male skiers with ages of 19.3±2.5 year, heights of 173.3±6.2 cm and weights of 67.6±8.4 kg attended to the study. Firstly 200 m, 400 m and 800 m maximal exercise measurements with roller ski were performed in a 400 m outdoor tartan track and then anaerobic leg strength measurements were performed in the laboratory using 30-second Wingate Cycle Ergometer Test Protocol. Statistical analysis was conducted by using the Graph Pad Prism Version 5.00 for Windows (Graph Pad Software, San Diego California USA) program and Spearman Range-Correlation Test was performed. The value of p<0.05 was accepted for statistical significance. As a results: while a significant positive correlation was observed between 200m roller ski exercise and peak power (r= -0,976 ), a significant positive correlation was found between 800 m exercise and average power (r= -0.960). There were similar significant correlation for 400 m both of peak power ( r= -0.760 ) and average power(r= -0.796).
