The Comparison of the Repeated Straight-Line and Repeated Shuttle Sprint Performances of Futsal Players

Year 2013, Volume: 18 Issue: 1-4, 36 - 44, 01.10.2017

Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the repeated straight-line
sprint (RSL) and repeated shuttle sprint (RSS) performances of futsal players.
Twelve male futsal players (age: 24.45±2.69 years) participated in this study
voluntarily. Repeated sprint abilities were determined by 6x25m repeated straight
line sprint test and 6x (2x12.5m) repeated shuttle sprint with 180°
change-of-direction test. At the end of the repeated sprint tests; best sprint
time, mean sprint time, total sprint time and percentage of performance
decrement was calculated. According to the results of paired samples t-test,
significant differences were found between RSL and RSS performances in 12.5-25m
(t(10): -37.782;
p=.000)
and 0-25m (t(10): -54.806;
p=.000)
best sprint times, while no significant difference was
observed in
0-12.5m (p>0.05). Similarly, in mean times, significant differences were
observed in 12.5-25m
(t(10): -38.855; p=.000) and 0-25m (t(10): -56.997; p=.000) with no significant difference in 0-12.5m (p>0.05)
between two repeated sprint tests. In total sprint times significant differences
were found in 12.5-25m
(t(10): -34.898; p=.000) and 0-25m (t(10): -53.752; p=.000) between two tests but, no significant difference was
found in 0-12.5m (p>0.05). On the other hand, no significant differences was
observed in terms of percentage of performance decrement (p>0.05). As a
conclusion, it can be said that RSL performance resulted in better values than
RSS for best sprint time, mean sprint time and total sprint time, on the other
hand, RSL and RSS performances did not differ in terms of percentage of
performance decrement.

Futsal Oyuncularının Doğrusal ve Yön Değiştirmeli Tekrarlı Sprint Performanslarının Karşılaştırılması

Year 2013, Volume: 18 Issue: 1-4, 36 - 44, 01.10.2017

Abstract

zamanları arasında 12.5-25m (t(10): -37.782; p=.000) ve 0-25m (t(10): -54.806;
p=.000) anlamlı bir fark olduğunu gösterirken, 0-12.5m performansında anlamlı bir
fark belirlenmemiştir (p>0.05). Benzer şekilde ortalama sprint zamanları
incelendiğinde yine 12.5-25m (t(10):-38.855; p=.000) ile 0-25m (t(10): -56.997;
Toplam sprint
zamanlarında 12.5-25m (t(10): -34.898; p=.000) ve 0-25m (t(10): -53.752;
