Relationships between Career Indecision Career Decision Making Self Efficacy and Locus of Control

Abstract

The purposes of this study is to examine whether career decision making self efficacy and locus of control predict high school students\' career indecision or not, and to compare career indecision of high school student according to gender, school type, decision status and perceived social-economic status. The study group consisted of 282 (168 girls and 114 boys) students in high schools. The Students\' ages ranged from 14-18. Career Decision Scale, Career Decision Making Self-efficacy Scale, Locus of Control Scale and Personal Information Form are used to collect data. Multiple regression analysis, t test and ANOVA are used to analyze data. According to Kariyer Kararsızlığı ile Mesleki… 460 result of multiple regression analysis career decision making self efficacy and locus of control accounted for a significant proportion of the variance (32 %) of the career indecision scores of the students. The career decision making self efficacy is powerful predictor of the career indecision. It is found that there are significant differences in career indecision of the students according to gender, school type, decision status, and perceived social-economic status.

Kariyer Kararsızlığı ile Mesleki Karar Verme Öz Yetkinlik ve Kontrol Odağı Arasındaki İlişkiler

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı kariyer karar verme öz yetkinlik ve kontrol odağının lise öğrencilerinin kariyer karasızlıklarını yordayıp yordamadığını incelemek ve kariyer kararsızlıklarını cinsiyet, okul türü, karar durumu ve SED\'e göre karşılaştırmaktır. Araştırma grubu 282 (168 kız, 114 erkek) lise öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Öğrencilerin yaşları 14-18 arasında değişmektedir. Araştırma verileri, Mesleki Karar Envanteri (MKE), Mesleki Karar Verme Yetkinlik Ölçeği (MKVYÖ), Kontrol Odağı Ölçeği (KOÖ) ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verileri analiz etmek için doğrusal çoklu regresyon analizi, t testi ve ANOVA kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada çoklu regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre kariyer karar verme öz yetkinlik ve kontrol odağı, kariyer kararsızlığına ilişkin toplam varyansın % 32\'sini açıklamıştır. Kariyer karar verme öz yetkinliği tek başına kariyer kararsızlığının anlamlı yordayıcısı olarak bulunmuştur. Erkek öğrencilerin kız öğrencilerden, meslek ve teknik liseye devam öğrencilerin genel liseye devam eden öğrencilerden, kariyer kararı vermemiş öğrencilerin verenlerden ve SED\'i düşük algılayanların orta ve yüksek algılayanlarınkinden kariyer kararsızlığı puan ortalamaları anlamlı olarak yüksek bulunmuştur.
