The Profile of the Contemporary Mathematics Teacher in the Secondary Education

Abstract

In this research, it has been tried to put forward the profile of the contemporary mathematics teacher in the secondary education. For this reason, 15 mathematics teachers working in the secondary school and 15 pre-service mathematics teachers in the Education Faculty were interviewed. What\'s more, “the Questionnaire of Teacher Profile” prepared by the researchers has been given to 215 students in secondary schools where the interviews were made. The collected data have been evaluated in the SPSS packet program. As a result of the qualitative and quantitative investigation, the profile of the contemporary mathematics teacher in the secondary education has been found out by comparing and interpreting the data.

Orta Öğretimde Çağdaş Matematik Öğretmeni Profili

Abstract

Bu araştırmada ortaöğretimde çağdaş matematik öğretmen modeli ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla, ortaöğretim kurumlarında görev yapan matematik öğretmenlerinden ve İzmir ilindeki bir devlet üniversitesinde Ortaöğretim Matematik Öğretmenliği bölümünde öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarından 15\'şer katılımcı ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Ayrıca görüşmelerin yapıldığı ortaöğretim kurumlarında toplam 215 öğrenciye de araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan “Öğretmen Profili Anketi” verilmiştir. Toplanan nicel veriler ise SPSS paket programında değerlendirilmiştir. Nitel ve nicel araştırmanın sonucunda veriler karşılaştırılıp yorumlanarak ortaöğretimde çağdaş öğretmen modeli ortaya konulmuştur.
