The purpose of this study is to assess the in-service needs of science teachers of the gifted students with the help of needs assessment approach. In this research case study approach was used and data were gathered with the help of Needs Assessment In- Service Education Survey (NAIS). Sampling consists of nine science teachers working at the Bayburt and Trabzon Science Art Centers. Survey studies were implemented at these centers and data were analyzed. Data indicated that these teachers needs an in-service course about project based learning and activities, internet application about education of the gifted, modern learning theories and activities, Bloom\'s taxonomy and formal operations, models for the education of the gifted,, action research model, laboratory approaches. Bu çalışma üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin fen öğretmenlerinin hizmet içi ihtiyaçlarını ihtiyaç değerlendirme yaklaşımını kullanarak belirlemek amacı ile tasarlanmıştır. Özel durum yönteminin izlendiği bu çalışmada verilerin toplanması amacı ile bir Hizmet-içi İhtiyaç Değerlendirme Anketi (HİDA) hazırlandı. Çalışmanın örneklemini Bayburt ve Trabzon Bilim Sanat Merkezlerinde görev yapan 9 fen öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır.
