This study aims to discover the effect of music education especially on the cognitive achievement of the children, and to emphasize that as it is generally thought music does not only apply to senses but also to minds by feelings and it takes an important part in the cognitive learning of the children at every age. For this study all the studies carried out in this field were examined and a mini research was conducted upon 26 students studying in the 2nd and 3rd year students of Ankara Rıfat Ege Binnaz Ege Anatolian high school . In the study the average marks of all the subjects of the students taking and not taking music education were compared. The marks were grouped and their frequency and percentage distribution were determined . The results revealed that the students taking music education were more successful in all subjects
Bu araştırma, müzik eğitiminin çocukların özellikle bilişsel başarıları üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymak, genelde düşünüldüğü gibi müziğin sadece duygulara seslenmekle kalmayıp, duygular yoluyla akla seslendiğini, ayrıca her yaş grubundaki çocuğun bilişsel öğrenmelerinde de önemli ölçüde etkin bir rol oynadığını vurgulamak amacını taşımaktadır. Bu amaçla yurt dışında koynuyla ilgili yapılmış araştırmalar taranmış, bu araştırmaların ışığı altında Ankara Rıfat Ege Binnaz Ege Anadolu Lisesi 2. ve 3. sınıf öğrencilerinden toplam 26 öğrenci üzerinde mini bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Araştırmada müzik eğitimi alan ve almayan 2 gruptan oluşan öğrencilerin, yıl sonunda tüm derslerden aldıkları not ortalamaları karşılaştırılmıştır.
