Five unpublished newly acquired gravestones from Muğla Museum
Abstract
Five unpublished newly acquired gravestones from Muğla Museum
The article presents five new funerary stelai acquired by the Museum of Muğla and found in Stratonikeia and its hinterland. Two of them date from the Hellenistic period, three from Roman imperial times. Of particular interest are the epichoric names in these inscriptions, as they add to our knowledge of the urban demography and of relief sculpture.
