Geriatrik Olgularda COVID-19: Göz Ardı Edilmemesi Gereken Konular

Abstract

COVID-19'un geriatrik olgularda atipik prezantasyonlar gösterebileceği, bu nedenle bu hasta grubunda hastalığın klasik bulguları ve özellikle ateş olmasa bile enfeksiyonun olabileceği göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır. Bu nedenle, ülkemizde 7,5 milyon yaşlı birey olduğu gerçeğinin ışığında, COVID-19, yaşlılarda bu şekilde şiddetli ve fatal seyrederken; 65 yaş üstü bireylerde hastalığın tanı, tedavi, takip ve önlenmesine yönelik yaklaşımların geriatrik bakış açısı ile değerlendirilmesi önem arz etmektedir.
