SPORCULARIN PANDEMİ DÖNEMİNDE COVID – 19’A YAKALANMA KAYGI DÜZEYLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı spor yapan bireylerin pandemi döneminde COVID – 19’a yakalanma kaygı düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya en az 1 yıl lisanslı aktif olarak spor yapan üniversite öğrencileri dâhil edilmiştir. Yaşları 18 – 29 arasında değişen katılımcıların ortalama yaşı ise 21.30 ± 3.40 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma örneklemi 155 erkek – 88 kadın olmak üzere toplam 243 sporcudan oluşmaktadır. Sporcular çevrimiçi olarak hazırlanan demografik bilgi formunu ve 16 maddeden oluşan Sporcuların Yeni Tip Koronavirüse Yakalanma Kaygısı Ölçeği’ni (SYTKYKÖ) yanıtlamıştır. Katılımcılar cinsiyet, branşın yapıldığı mekân (açık – kapalı), branşın doğası (temaslı – temassız) ve spor türlerine (bireysel – takım) göre sınıflandırılarak SYTKYKÖ’ne verilen yanıtlar analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada kapalı alanda spor yapanların COVID – 19’a yakalanma bireysel kaygı ve toplam kaygı düzeylerinin açık alanda spor yapan sporculardan daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır (p <.05). Temaslı sporlarla ilgilenenlerin ise aynı şekilde COVID – 19’a yakalanma bireysel kaygı ve toplam kaygı düzeyleri temassız spor yapan sporculardan daha yüksek çıkmıştır (p <.01). Araştırmada takım sporlarıyla ilgilenen sporcuların COVID – 19’a yakalanma bireysel, sosyalleşme ve toplam kaygı düzeyinin bireysel sporlarla uğraşan sporculardan daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır (p <.01).
