Abstract

C. fetus subsp. jejuni is one of the most common bacterial causes of acute gastroenteritis in both children and adults. The purpose of this article is to review the characteristics, growth parameters, some out breaks and fatalities related to C. jejuni. In addition, symptoms and source of infections (meat, poultry, raw milk and other foods) were discussed. Finally, isolation and control mechanism were given in this article.

Abstract

C. fetus subsp. jejuni çocuklarda ve yetişkinlerde çok yaygın olarak, bakteriyal akut mide ve bağırsak iltihaplanmalarına neden olan bir etkendir. Bu makale C. jejuni 'nin özellikleri, gelişme ve büyüme parametreleri, bazı yaptığı hastalıkları ve ölüme neden olması gibi konulan içermektedir. Bunlara ilave olarak hastalığın belirtileri, enfeksiyon kaynaklan, örneğin et, tavuk, çiğ süt ve diğer gıdalar da bulunuşu tartışılmıştır. Sonunda bakterinin izolasyonu ve kontrol mekanizmaları hakkında özet bilgi verilmiştir.
