The Ankara University Journal of Real Estate Studies (AU-JRES) is a peer-reviewed, academic, and fully open-access online journal, published biannually (June and December) by the Department of Real Estate Development and Management at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Ankara University. The journal may also publish up to two special issues per year, each focused on a specific theme. The themes and publication dates of special issues are determined and announced by the Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief. The publication languages are Turkish and English.

AU-JRES provides a scholarly platform for the examination and dissemination of topics related to real estate development and management. It aims to foster academic dialogue on a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to: global and Turkish economic issues, the global financial system, foreign direct investment, real estate and construction economics, construction management, cost analysis and control, real estate and asset valuation, business and intangible asset valuation, and the valuation of historical, cultural, and artistic properties. The journal also covers the relationship between architectural design and valuation, urban economics, urban governance, infrastructure investments and financing, rural economics and rural land management, land policies and governance, urban and rural land economics, land consolidation, land banking, and land use planning.

Other key themes include climate change, land degradation, ecosystem services and restoration, conservation of natural and built heritage, expropriation, resettlement, real estate and zoning law, procurement systems and international consultancy contracts, spatial planning, cadastre and land registry, urban transformation, real estate project development and valuation, infrastructure project finance, and special-purpose property development. AU-JRES also welcomes studies on investment strategies, institutional and individual real estate investors, public-private partnership (PPP) models, securitization, capital markets, tax law, human-space interaction, facility and resource management, corporate real estate, public property management, informality in the construction sector, and real estate accounting.

Technological and digital trends in real estate, such as GIS, remote sensing, PropTech, AI, machine learning, big data, digital tokenization, and blockchain applications, are also within the journal’s scope. Moreover, AU-JRES supports work related to real estate marketing, crowdfunding, disaster and risk management, real estate insurance, environmental and social impact assessment, environmental law, sustainability and circular economy policies, net-zero buildings, ESG analysis, and the relationship between sustainability, land use, urbanization, and property markets.

The journal encourages interdisciplinary contributions and supports the advancement of academic knowledge through the inclusion of international valuation and financial reporting standards, as well as professional education and research in land management, real estate development, and property and facility management.

Before submitting a manuscript to AU-JRES, please ensure that your work meets the following criteria:
• The preferred type of submission is research and review articles. 
• Submissions must comply with the Journal’s Publication Ethics and Policies.
• Before submitting your manuscript, please make sure to review our Manuscript Formatting Guidelines page. Manuscripts that do not strictly follow the article template, that include author-identifying information, or lack an Extended Abstract (for Turkish-language submissions) will be automatically rejected without entering the review process.
• The plagiarism rate must be below 10%.
• All required information related to the submission (Keywords, Author Identifiers, Abstracts, etc.) must be completely and accurately filled in within the system.
