Abstract

While art which is in a constant quest for truth only represents a visual reality earlier, this changed. On the other hand the capitalist system as today’ s reality, effects all sorts of production in cluding art itself by holding financial power in our time in which consumption overrules. Under this circumstance artist is in a position of a factory worker who serves for this very system.

MentalKLİNİK try to rediscover the facts like comprehension, process, presentation by making an intelle ctual effort and creating projects on concepts such as production, concumption and dissatisfaction. Therefore they practice these concepts by these projects and search the actual truth. The reference of these instantly executed and consumed projects to the capitalist system is their most important quality.

Abstract

Sürekli gerçeği sorgulayan sanat önceleri sadece görsel gerçekliği yansıtırken bu durum zamanla değişikliğe uğramıştır. Günümüzün bir gerçeği olan kapitalist sistem ise tüketimin iktidarı olduğu çağımızda finansal gücü de elinde tutarak sanat da dahil olmak üzere üretimin bütün boyutlarına etki eder. Bu ortam içinde sanatçı da sisteme hizmet eden bir işçi konumundadır.

MentalKLİNİK ikilisi üretim, tüketim, tatminsizlik, süreç, sunum gibi kavramlar üzerinde düşünsel bir çaba harcayıp projeler oluşturarak kavrayış, süreç, sunum gibi olguları yeniden keşfetmeye çalışırlar. Dolayısıyla bu kavramları projeler yoluyla hayata geçirip güncel gerçekliği ararlar. Ortaya çıkan projelerin o anda yaşanılıp tüketilmesiyle kapitalist sisteme yapılan atıf en önemli özellikleridir.
