Abstract

Postmodern tiyatronun önemli temsilcilerinden Robert Wilson, eşsiz tiyatro anlayışıyla sanata yeni ve farklı bir yerden bakmaktadır. Eserleriyle görsel bir şölen sunan sanatçı için tiyatro, kalıplarından sıyrılmalıdır. Performanslarında seyircisine “bu nedir” diye sorarak, seyircisinin bireysel algılarını ve duygularını harekete geçirmektedir. Bir şekilde seyircilere, izledikleri şovdan aynı anlamı çıkarmak zorunda olmadıklarını, hatta bu anlamı izlerken de çıkartmak zorunda olmadıklarını vurgulamaktadır. Böylece seyircilerine “şimdi ve burada” deneyimi sunmaktadır. Hem oyuncuyu hem de izleyiciyi metinden ayırıp bedene, harekete, ışığa, dansa ve mimariye taşımaktadır. Bu özellikleriyle sanatçı, algıyı otistik bireylerinde algılayabileceği şekle dönüştürmektedir. İmge tiyatrosu olarak bilinse de tiyatrosu için Wilson'un tercih ettiği tanım “otistik tiyatro” kavramıdır. Bu makalenin amacı; “otistik tiyatro” kavramını Robert Wilson tiyatrosuna bakarak incelemektir.

Robert Wilson and Autistic Theater

Abstract

Robert Wilson, one of the important representatives of the postmodern theater, looks at art from a new and different place with his unique theater understanding. For the artist, who presents a visual feast with his works, the theater should be stripped of its patterns. In his performances, by asking his audience “what is this”, he activates the individual perceptions and emotions of his audience. He somehow emphasizes to the audience that they do not have to deduce the same meaning from the show they are watching, or even have to remove it while watching this meaning. Thus, it offers its audience the “here and now” experience. It separates both the actor and the audience from the text and moves them to the body, movement, light, dance and architecture. With these features, the artist transforms the perception into something that can be perceived by autistic individuals. Wilson’s theater is known as image theater, but the artist prefers the concept of “autistic theater” as a definition.
