Niğde 19. yüzyıl kiliselerinin biçim grameri bazlı tipomorfolojik analizi

Öz

Niğde ilinde Osmanlı dönemindeki Hristiyan toplumun ibadetlerini gerçekleştirdiği kiliseler oldukça fazladır ve çoğunluğu 19. yüzyıl yapılarıdır. Mübadele sonrası başka işlevlerle kullanılan bu yapıların mimari dilini çözümlemenin kent mimarisinin özgün yapısını anlamada önemli olacağı düşünülmüştür. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada kiliseleri birbirinden farklı kılan tasarım özellikleri belirlenerek tanımlanmış ve bu özellikler doğrultusunda bir sınıflandırılma yapılmıştır. Sınıflandırmayla elde edilen ana tipler ise belirlenen özellikler doğrultusunda biçim grameri ve tipo-mofoloji yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Biçim grameri yöntemi ile hangi elemanların nasıl bir araya geldiği incelenirken; tipomorfoloji yöntemi ile de elemanların biçimsel olarak nasıl değiştiği incelenmiştir. Bu iki analiz yönteminin entegrasyonu sonucunda ise Niğde 19. yüzyıl kiliselerine ait üç adet tip ve bunların alt tipleri tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda farklılıkların neden kaynaklanmış olabileceği sosyal ve fiziksel parametreler üzerinden, Kapadokya Bölgesi’ndeki aynı yüzyıla ait diğer örneklerle karşılaştırılmalı olarak yorumlanmıştır. Mevcut çalışmada, kiliseler üzerinde yapılan yeniden işlevlendirme gibi sınırlı çerçevedeki çalışmalardan farklı bir bakış açısıyla öncelikle kiliselerin mimari dillerinin keşfedilmesi ve bu doğrultuda bir sınıflandırma ile tip havuzu elde edilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Kent ölçeğinde incelenen örnek sayısı çalışmada sınırlılıklar oluştursa da elde edilen tip havuzunun aynı veya başka bölgelerdeki kilise tipleri ile zenginleştirilme potansiyeli taşıması çalışmanın olumlu bir özelliğidir.

Typomorphological analysis of 19th century churches in Niğde based on shape grammar

Abstract

In the province of Niğde, the churches where the Christian community in the Ottoman period performed their worship are quite numerous and most of them are 19th century buildings. It was thought that analysing the architectural language of these buildings, which were used for other functions after the exchange, would be important in understanding the original structure of the city architecture. In this direction, the design features that make the churches different from each other were identified and defined, and a classification was made in line with these features. The main types obtained from the classification were analysed by using form grammar and typo-mophology methods in line with the determined features. While the grammar of form method analysed how the elements come together, the typo-morphology method analysed how the elements change formally. As a result of the integration of these two analysis methods, three types and their subtypes belonging to the 19th century churches of Niğde were identified. At the end of the study, the social and physical parameters that may have caused the differences are interpreted in comparison with other examples of the same century in the Cappadocia Region. In the present study, with a different perspective from the limited studies on churches such as re-functionalisation, it is aimed to discover the architectural languages of the churches and to obtain a classification and type pool in this direction. Although the number of samples analysed at the city scale constitutes limitations in the study, the type pool obtained.
