COVID-19 SÜRECİNDE DİŞHEKİMLİĞİ UYGULAMALARI

Abstract

Etiyolojisi bilinmeyen bir pnömoni salgını Çin'in Hubei eyaleti Wuhan Şehrinde bir deniz ürünleri pazarında Aralık 2019'da ortaya çıktı ve hızla Çin'in diğer eyaletlerine ve diğer Dünya ülkelerine yayılım gösterdi. Yeni tip bir koronavirüs (SARS-CoV-2) etken ajan olarak tanımlandı ve bu etkenin yol açtığı hastalık Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (WHO) tarafından koronavirüs hastalığı COVID-19 olarak adlandırıldı. COVID-19 'un dünya çapındaki şiddetli ve hızlı yayılımından dolayı Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından 11 Mart 2020'de pandemi ilan edildi. Dünya'nın bir çok ülkesinde hastalığın yayılımını önlemek için tedbirler alınmaya başlandı. COVID-19 öksürük, hapşırma, damlacık inhalasyonu yoluyla direk olarak bulaşırken, ağız, burun ve göz mukozalarıyla da temas yoluyla bulaşmaktadır. Dişhekimliği uygulamalarının büyük çoğunluğunda tükürük, kan ve aerosol / damlacık üretimine maruz kalınması nedeniyle COVID 19 'un yayılımında yüksek risk teşkil etmektedir. Bu nedenle salgından etkilenen bir çok ülkede dental uygulamalar ya tamamıyla durmuş ya da sadece acil uygulamalar gerçekleştirilecek şekilde minimale indirilmiştir. Bu derlemede koronavirüs hastalığının özellikleri ve dental tedaviler sırasında oluşabilecek enfeksiyon yayılımını kontrol altına almak için alınabilecek önlemler ele alınacaktır.
