Voltage Control of Buck Converter with Arctic Puffin Optimization Algorithm
Abstract
The increasing use of electrical and electronic devices has caused power quality problems, especially regarding voltage stability and harmonic distortion. This requires an effective voltage control method, especially in applications such as buck converters. Conventional PI controllers cannot ensure the desired response to voltage disturbances. This study focuses on optimizing PI using the improved arctic puffin optimization (IAPO) method. The method is improved to support the system in evaluating and displaying the ITAE values that appear so that IAPO is more focused on the search and value determination phase. The simulation results show that the optimized PI can speed up the system time in reaching a stable point and can adjust to changes in voltage when compared to fuzzy and conventional PI. These findings indicate that IAPO is an effective alternative for controller tuning in voltage regulation.
