WELDABILITY OF GALVANIZE COATED STEEL SHEETS PRODUCED BY ELECTRO AND HOT DIPPING METHODS TO STAINLESS STEELS BY SPOT RESISTANCE WELDING
Abstract
In this study, spot resistance welding of galvanized sheet and stainless steel, which is widely used in the white-goods manufacturing industry, have been investigated. Two galvanized sheets with different coating thicknesses are welded to the stainless steel, is managed and the effect of the coating types on the welding area is investigated. The micro structures, micro hardness and the shearing tests of the welded parts have been carried out in order to find the effect of coating thickness on the weldability. Experimental results have shown that on the welding of galvanized sheet, obtained by the dipping method with a thicker coating layer, the gushing out and buckling are observed. However, mechanical properties of the welding of galvanized sheets were found lower than those of the welding electro coated galvanized shees.
