The purpose of this study is to investigate export and employment effect of investments made under incentive
system. The study uses quarterly data of TR32 region between 2002 and 2014. The findings suggest that an
increase in number of incentive system certificates and rise in amoumt of investments increase employment.
While number of certificate does not have effect on regions export volume, investments with high amount
boost the export. Investments under the system create more employment in labor intensive sectors than that in
capital-technology intensives sectors. Turkey’s incentive system does not help existing export goods diversity
and export structure of the region change.
