Abstract
Competitiveness is important for every firm in the business world. Today’s supply chains are more complex due to globalization and its effects especially on logistics activities. Supply chain complexity effects firm performance and firm competitiveness. The objective of this paper is to develop a model that explains factors of supply chain complexity and effect of these factors on firm performance. To assess these relationships, it was conducted a questionnaire survey on middle and large firms. For this purpose, firstly, variables were determined with performing Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). Next, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed to conduct measurement model with AMOS 20 and fit indices were calculated. Later, effect of Supply chain complexity on firm performance has been determined by structural equation modeling. The results have showed that downstream complexity and deficiencies in the decision-making process have positive effects on the negativeness of firm performance. In addition, it is shown that deficiencies in the decision-making process have an effect on upstream complexity
