An in-depth examination of nursing students' expectations from educators in practice is an important need to improve learning environments and develop professional awareness. This research was carried out to examine the expectations of intern nursing students from clinical instructors. The study was conducted with seven intern students who intended for clinical practice at Akdeniz University Hospital and volunteered for this qualitative research. The data were collected online through in-depth semi-structured individual interviews. All interviews were transcribed word-for-word and evaluated using the content analysis method through repeated readings.
During data analysis, two main themes were obtained: "creating a safe teaching environment" and "individuals as a source of learning". The theme “creating a safe teaching environment in clinical settings” consists of four sub-themes, while “individuals as a source of learning” consists of five.
In this study, intern nursing students' views on educational resource perceptions in clinical settings and the characteristics of a safe learning environment were emphasized.
