Gelişmeleri Kaçırma Korkusu (Fomo) ve Sosyal Medya Bağımlılığı İlişkisi: Meta Analiz

Yıl 2023, Cilt: 12 Sayı: 3, 1428 - 1436, 26.09.2023

Öz

Çalışmada FOMO ile sosyal medya bağımlılığı arasındaki ilişkiyi meta analizi yöntemiyle incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın amacına bağlı olarak; Scopus, Web of Science, Elseiver veri tabanları taranarak “fear of missing out”, “social media addiction”, “problematic social media use”, “fear of missing out and social media addiction” ve “fear of missing out and problematic social media use” anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak tarama yapılmıştır. Tarama sonucunda ulaşılan 200 çalışmadan 25’i araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir.

In the study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between FOMO and social media addiction using meta-analysis method.Depending on the purpose of the study; Scopus, Web of Science, Elseiver databases were scanned and "fear of missing out", "social media addiction", "problematic social media use", "fear of missing out and social media addiction" and "fear of missing out and problematic social media" The search was conducted using the keywords "use". Of the 200 studies reached as a result of the search, 25 were included in the study. The CMA program was used to analyze the studies included in the study. According to the random effects model, the effect size of 25 studies was found to be 0.486 (r: 0.451). The studies included in the research do not have a publication bias and show a heterogeneous distribution. As a result of the findings obtained from the meta-analysis, there is a positive and significant relationship between the fear of missing out and social media addiction. It is recommended to increase databases and include subgroup analyzes for future research.
