Abstract

Yirminci yüzyılın en öne çıkan özelliklerinden biri, kentleşme sürecinin hızlanmasıdır. Kentler, tarih boyunca, kültür ve medeniyetin doğup geliştiği yerlerdir. Kentlerin asıl gelişimi, Sanayi Devrimi sonrasında bunların birer sanayi merkezleri haline gelmeleri sonucu kırdan kente göçün artması ve kentlerin büyümesi ile olmuştur. 20. Yüzyılda kentlerin nüfusunun artmasıyla birlikte kentsel sorunlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu dönemde, kentsel yaşamı etkileyen sorunlar ve bu sorunlar için çözüm yolları üretmeye yönelik birçok çaba da kentlerde ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çabalardan en önemlisi, kent kuramlarının oluşturulmaya başlanmasıdır.

20TH CENTURY URBAN THEORİES

Abstract

One of the most prominent features of the twentieth century was the acceleration of the urbanization process. Throughout the history, cities are the places where the culture and civilization were born and developed. The main development of the cities occured with the increase in rural-urban migration and with the urban growth as they became the industrial centers after the Industrial Revolution. In the 20th century urban problems have emerged with the increasing population of the cities. During this period, problems affecting urban life and efforts to produce solutions to these problems emerged in the cities. The most important effort was the creation of urban theories
