Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada, acil servise özkıyım amaçlı ilaç alımı ile başvuran pediyatrik olguların sosyodemografik ve psikiyatrik özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Yöntem: Onsekiz aylık sürede özkıyım amaçlı ilaç alan olgular retrospektif olarak hastane kayıtlarından tarandı. Bulgular: Olguların yaş ortalaması; kızlarda 12.9±1.7 yıl erkeklerde 14.7±1.1 yıldı. Özkıyım nedenleri arasında ailevi sorunlar ilk sırada (n=58, %59.2), karşı cins ile olan sorunlar ve okul sorunları diğer sık nedenler arasında yer aldı. Olguların %68’inin (n=67) ilk kez girişimde bulunduğu saptandı. Girişim için seçilen en sık ilaç grubu analjezik-antienflamatuarlardı (%46.7). Sonuç: Ergenlerde görülen nedenlerdendir. Özkıyım girişiminde bulunan olguların biyopsikososyal açıdan değerlendirilmeleri önemlidir.

Abstract

Objective: In this study sociodemographic and psychiatric characteristics of pediatric cases who applied to emergency service because of taking medicine to suicide were investigated. Methods: During a time period of 18 months, cases obtained from hospital records because of taking medicine to suicide were investigated retrospectively. Results: The mean age of female children was 12.9±1.7 and the average age of male children was 14.7±1.1. Familial reasons were the most common reasons of suicide (n=58, 59.2%). Besides problems with opposite sex and problems related to school were other frequent reasons as well. It is determined that 68% of the cases were attempting to suicide for the first time. It is specified that analgesic anti-inflammatory medicine group was the most frequently selected medicine group for suiciding (%46.7). Conclusion: In early adolescents, familial problems, problems with opposite sex and problems related to school were the most common reasons of suicide attempt. Cases those attempted to suicide have to be investigated through a biopsychosocial perspective
