Turkish tribes migrated from Central Asia and settled in Anatolian lands starting from the 9th century. Many reasons such as climatic conditions, protection from enemies, the desire to live on more fertile lands were among the reasons for their migration and they continued their lives by dispersing to various countries of the world.
For these reasons, Anatolia and the Balkans became the areas where Turkish tribes migrated from Central Asia. Turkish tribes from the north and south have settled in these areas since the VI century.
By integrating with the people of the region and the geography of the places where the Turkish tribes passed through and settled throughout history, they managed to create a synthesis by combining their own cultures with the culture of that region.
This study has been prepared on Kocapınar village and its weavings, who define themselves as Pomak Turks, expressing that they came to Balıkesir Province Gönen District Kocapınar Village (Neighborhood) by migrating from the Balkans.
