Abstract
Cities reflect the culture of every society. Housing, public buildings, roads, entertainment and resting places, places of worship and sports venues in cities are a reflection of culture. Squares form one of the unique aspects of each city. Cities have had a central square since their establishment. Squares have been shaped according to the relationship each civilization has with space. It developed around the castle in historical Sivas, and grew in a circular form in the form of walls, reaching a square where we can define the castle and the madrasahs, which we can define as the main square.
The aim of our study, based on the example of Sivas, aims to make the historical urban textures attractive today, within the framework of the analysis of the development of the city squares and the analysis of the square and the results obtained from these analyzes.
