Holistic Language Education

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to obtain students’ opinions on Holistic Education and to describe the current situation under three sub-dimensions such as Teaching Method- Sense Relationship, The effect of emotions on learning and Course books. The research was carried out through descriptive and scanning model. 220 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades High school students in Elazığ province during 2015-2016 education years participated to the research. The scale consists of 3 demographic and 40 likert type questions which are about holisticism. The data was analyzed with descriptive statistical technique, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, independent groups “t” test, one way variance analysis (Anova), Mann Whitney U and KWH tests. According to the data which has been obtained through scale, students are of the opinion that teachers are aware of holistic education and pay attention to the basic principle of this approach. Students express that there is a relationship between emotion and learning. Finally, according to the students, course books meet their expectations.
