International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, has published recommendations for prescribing high-quality goal-directed peritoneal dialysis. The recommendations in this guideline emphasized that dialysis competence should be interpreted clinically, rather than targeting only small solute clearance and fluid removal. The guideline emphasizes a person-centered approach with shared decision-making between the individual performing peritoneal dialysis and the clinical care team. In other words, this guideline focuses on the person performing peritoneal dialysis. Prescription of peritoneal dialysis should have the least impact on the living conditions of the person and should provide clinical and biochemical improvement
