Abstract

Chronic kidney disease is a condition that significantly affects individuals' quality of life, often involves challenges in treatment adherence, and requires continuous care. For patients undergoing dialysis treatment, consistent access to healthcare services can contribute to maintaining daily living activities and improving treatment compliance. In recent years, mobile health applications have begun to play an increasingly important role in patient care by providing digital support in the management of chronic diseases. The aim of this review is to evaluate the integration of mobile health applications into the care processes of dialysis patients from a nursing perspective. According to current literature, these applications have demonstrated positive effects in areas such as patient monitoring, education, symptom management, improving treatment adherence, and enhancing self-management skills. The effective use of mobile health technologies by nurses facilitates the delivery of individualized care and enables continuous digital communication with patients. Furthermore, they offer advantages in terms of remote monitoring, early intervention, and promoting health literacy. In this context, nurses gaining competence in digital health technologies is of critical importance for improving the quality of care for dialysis patients,
achieving treatment goals, and ensuring the sustainability of care.

Mobil Sağlık Uygulamalarının Diyaliz Hastalarının Bakım Süreçlerinde Kullanımı/Utilization of Mobile Health Applications in the Care of Dialysis Patients

Year 2025, Volume: 20 Issue: 3, 204 - 212, 30.09.2025
