In this paper, whether the Religious Music courses
given by female academicians has an effect on course selection of students,
opinions of students on classes thought by female and/or male academicians, and
possible influence of whether Religious Music academicians are graduates of a
Faculty of Theology or not on the course selection of students are going to be
analysed. The main factor that encouraged us to conduct this study is the fact
that the number of female academicians working in this field at Theology and
Islamic Sciences Faculties are five, and only three of them have the
responsibility of teaching classes. In this paper, a questionnaire will be
performed with some students of Hitit University that employ one female and one
male academician in the Turkish Religious Music Department and responses to the
questionnaire will be analysed.
