FÜZYONUNU TAMAMLAMAMIŞ BİR METOPİK SÜTÜR ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

           İnsan beyni 45-50 yaşlarına kadar büyür ve dolayısıyla
kafatasını genişletme ihtiyacı vardır. Kraniofasial kemiklerinin her biri
komşuluk ettiği kemikle düz bir dikiş ile bağlanır. Kafatasında, parietal
kemikleri birbirine bağlayan sütürler belli yaş aralıklarında kapanır. Bu
çalışmanın temel amacı, Van ili civarında Babacan kırsalında yapılan kaçak
kazılardan elde edilen 20-30 yaşında yetişkin bir kadın kafatasında tespit edilen
metopik sütürün, ayrıntılı morfolojisini incelemektir. Ayrıca, metopik sütürün füzyonunu
gerçekleştirememesinin olası nedenlerini ortaya koymakta bu çalışmayla mümkün
olabilecektir. Metopik
sütürün şekil boyut açısından dikiş desenini analiz etmek ve
morfolojik karakterini belirlemek için makroskopik ve tomografik değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.
Metopik sütür, iki frontal kemiği gelişim aşamasında birleştirir. Bu iki kemik
genellikle altı yaşında kapanır. Bazen metopik sütür erişkinlerde gözlenir ve
kalıcı metopik sütür adını alır. Kalıcı metopik sütür; kranial kemiklerin
anormal büyümesi, büyümenin durması, kalıtım, hormonal etki, atavizm, kraniyal
malformasyonlar ve hidrosefali gibi çeşitli nedenlere bağlı olabilmektedir. Son
yıllarda kafatası sütürlerinin çeşitleri, antropoloji ve adli tıp alanındaki
önemi nedeniyle sıkça incelenmektedir. Metopizm kadınlar arasında erkeklerden
daha sık görülmektedir ve ortalama yaşam süresinin düşük olduğu toplumlarda
daha sık metopik sütüre rastlanılmaktadır. İncelenen bireyin ortalama yaşam
süresinin düşük olması ve metopik sütür olgusuna kadın bireyde rastlanılması
şimdiye kadar yapılan literatür sonuçlarını destekler niteliktedir.
İncelemelerimiz sonucu, kafatasının genel morfolojik yapısındaki farklılık ve
metopik sütürün füzyonunu tamamlayamaması bize bireyin gelişimsel bir hastalığa
sahip olduğunu düşündürmektedir.
