Transversal azimutal projeksiyonlarda Aitoff ve Wagner dönüşümleri

Abstract

David Alexandrovich Aitoff, uzunluk koruyan transversal azimutal projeksiyonu, planisfer gösterimler için kullanılabilecek şekilde modifiye ederek ilginç bir yöntem uygulamıştır. Aitoff’tan çok sonra Karlheinz Wagner tarafından bu tür dönüşümler genelleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada dönüşüm yöntemleri tartışılarak, dönüşüm streografik projeksiyona uygulanmıştır. Bu uyarlama deformasyonlar açısından incelenmiş, Aitoff ve Hammer projeksiyonları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar, bu yeni seçeneğin planisfer gösterimlerde kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir.

Aitoff and Wagner transformation in transversal azimuthal projections

Abstract

An interesting method has been applied by David Alexandrovich Aitoff modifying the equidistant transversal azimuthal projection so that it can be used for planisphere representations. Such transformations were generalized by Karheinz Wagner long after Aitoff. In this study, the transformation method is discussed, and it is applied to streographic projection. This modification has been examined in terms of distortions and compared with Aitoff and Hammer projections. The results show that this new option can be used in planisphere representations.
