Forests covering 26% of Turkeys total area 201 992.96 km2 arenow facing unjustified occupations and illegal usage despite theprotection provided by the provisions of Turkish Constitution andthe Forestry Law. As a result of this, some portion of forestall areaswhich amounts to approximately 2.3% 4 374.19 Km2 of the totalhas been excluded from the forest land.This paper discusses the issues concerning the area of 4734.19km2, reassigned as non-forestal area on the claim that it lost itsforestal characteristics. Furthermore, this paper also includes theprecautions that should be taken for the area which has been exemptedfrom the forest land, and the suggestions in this regard
