Amaç: Çalışmada polis memurlarının hastane dışı kardiyak arrest vakalarında temel yaşam desteği uygulamalarına başlaması ve otomatik eksternal defibrilatör kullanmasının, hasta/yaralının hayatta kalma şansına etkisini yapılmış çalışmalarla ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır.
Gere. ve Yöntemler: Çalışmanın evrenini 1980-Ağustos 2023 tarihinde “police and cpr” tarama terimleri PubMed veri tabanı taranarak ulaşılan 197 makale ve bu makalelerden araştırma kriterlerini sağlayan 26 çalışma ise sistematik incelemenin örneklemi oluşturmuştur.
Bulgular: Uluslararası literatür incelendiğinde hastane dışı kardiyak arrest vakalarına polis tabanlı ilk müdahale ekiplerinin uygulamalarının sağ kalımı artırmakla birlikte taburculuk sonrası nörolojik hasarı da minimuma indirdiğini göstermiştir.
Sonuç: Hastane öncesi kardiyak arrest müdahalesinde ilk müdahale ekipleri olarak polis ekiplerinin temel yaşam desteği uygulamalarına başlaması ve otomatik eksternal defibrilatör kullanımının, sağkalım oranına katkı sağlayacağı tespit edilmiştir. Bu nedenle polis ekiplerine temel yaşam desteği uygulamaları ile otomatik eksternal defibrilatör kullanımı konusunda modül eğitim programı oluşturulmalıdır. Eğitim programının güncel uygulamalar eşliğinde düzenli aralıklarla gerçekleştirilmesi sağlanmalıdır.

Objective: The aim of the study is to reveal the effect of police officers starting basic life support applications and using automatic external defibrillators in cases of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest on the chances of survival of the patient/injured person.
Method: The population of the study was 197 articles reached by scanning the PubMed database with the search terms "police and cpr" between 1980 and August 2023, and 26 studies that met the research criteria from these articles constituted the sample of the systematic review.
Results: When the international literature was examined, it was shown that the practices of police-based first responders in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases increased survival and also minimized neurological damage after discharge.
Conclusion: It has been determined that police teams, as first responders in pre-hospital cardiac arrest intervention, start basic life support applications and use automatic external defibrillators will contribute to the survival rate. For this reason, a module training program should be created for police teams on basic life support applications and the use of automatic external defibrillators. It should be ensured that the training program is carried out at regular intervals in accordance with current practices.
