BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF NURSING RESEARCH ON ATRIAL FIBRILLATION

Öz

Objective: This bibliometric analysis was conducted to identify research trends over the 46-year (1979–2025) history of nursing research related to atrial fibrillation and to evaluate current topics.
Materials and Methods: Data were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database in February 2025 and analyzed using RStudio Biblioshiny version. A total of 476 published articles were evaluated in terms of annual publication and citation trends, analyses of journals, authors, and countries, journal and citation analyses, country and author collaborations, trending topics and thematic clusters, and keyword analysis.
Results: The study comprises 476 articles on atrial fibrillation published in 80 different sources between 1979 and 2025. These publications include a total of 12,903 references. The analysis identified “Heart & Lung, European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, and Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing” as the most productive journals. The United States holds a central position within the collaboration network and is also the country with the highest number of publications. The most frequently used keywords in the published studies were identified as “atrial fibrillation management,” “risk,” “quality of life,” and “prevention.”
Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrate a growing interest in atrial fibrillation within the field of nursing. This study is expected to contribute to the existing literature and serve as a guide for nurses and researchers working in this area.

ATRİYAL FİBRİLASYON İLE İLGİLİ HEMŞİRELİK ARAŞTIRMALARININ BİBLİYOMETRİK ANALİZİ

Öz

Amaç: Bu bibliyometrik analiz, atriyal fibrilasyon ile ilgili yapılan hemşirelik araştırmalarının 46 yıllık (1979–2025) tarihindeki araştırma eğilimlerini belirlemek ve güncel konuları değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntemler: Veriler “Web of Science Core Collection” veri tabanından Şubat 2025 tarihinde toplanmış ve RStudio Biblioshiny versiyonu kullanılarak analiz gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yayımlanan 476 makalenin, yıllara göre yayın ve atıf sayısı değişimi, yayın, yazar ve ülke analizleri, dergi ve atıf analizleri, ülke ve yazar iş birliktelikleri analizi, trend konular ve konu kümelenmeleri ile kelime analizi değerlendirilmiştir.
Bulgular: Çalışma atriyal fibrilasyona yönelik 1979-2025 yılları arasında 80 farklı kaynakta yayınlanmış 476 makaleden oluşmaktadır. Bu yayınlarla ilgili kaynaklarda 12903 referans bulunmaktadır. Analiz sonucunda “Heart & Lung”, “European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing” ve “Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing” dergileri sırasıyla en üretken dergiler olarak saptanmıştır. Amerika Birleşik Devletleri işbirliği ağı içerisinde merkezi bir konuma sahip olmakla birlikte aynı zamanda en fazla yayın yapan ülkedir. Yayımlanan çalışmalarda en fazla kullanılan anahtar kelimeler sırasıyla, “atriyal fibrilasyon yönetimi, risk, yaşam kalitesi, önleme” olarak belirlenmiştir.
Sonuç: Araştırmanın sonuçları hemşirelik alanında atriyal fibrilasyon konusuna ilginin giderek arttığını göstermiştir. Bu çalışmanın mevcut literatüre katkı sağlayacağı ve bu alanda çalışan hemşireler ve araştırmacılar için bir rehber görevi göreceği öngörülmektedir.
