The
eco-label system is a volunteer-based certification application designed to
help consumers distinguish more green products and services. Environmental
labeling (Eco-label) can be given for any service or product in areas other
than food, beverages, medicines and medicinal products. As of 1996, 6 products
were given. In 2018, 2,091 product-service eco-label licenses were
granted and the number of licenses continued to increase with the product range
that developed every day. Although there are 35 product groups in which
eco-label application is in use, eco-label can be given under certain criteria.
With this study, the concept of eco-label, the development process, the fundamental
philosophy, benefits, aimed to examine issues and latest developments in this
field in Turkey..
