Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the postural evaluations of the students of the painting and sculpture departments.
Material and Method: Twenty-three students from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts Painting (n = 10) and Sculpture (n = 13) Departments were evaluated.Socio-demographic survey information of all participants were obtained. Postural analysis was performed using New York Posture Analysis (NYPA). Joint range of motion (ROM) with universal goniometer, shortness with tape measure, muscle strength with Manual Muscle Test, hand grip strength with Jamar hand dynamometer, pinch, palmar and lateral grip strengths with pinch meter were measured. The part of the body which the pain was seen with The Pain Localization Test and the severity of the pain with Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) were determined.
Result: When muscle strengths were compared, right side pectoralis major and minor muscles and both sides subscapularis muscle strength values were found to be significantly lower in the painting department students (p <0.05). When the grip strengths of both hands between the departments are compared; while there was no significant difference between the female students, the non-dominant side hand grip strength of the male students of the sculpture department was found to be higher than the male students of the painting department (p <0.05).
Conclusion: In future research; we are of the opinion that a more comprehensive assessment should be made by increasing the number of cases, specific ergonomic training should be given to students in this department, and working conditions should be regulated.

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı resim ve heykel bölümü öğrencilerinin postüral değerlendirmelerinin karşılaştırılmasıdır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Resim (n=10) ve Heykel (n=13) bölümlerinden toplam 23 öğrenci değerlendirildi. Tüm katılımcıların sosyo-demografik anket bilgileri alındı. New York Postür Analizi (NYPA) ile postüral analiz yapıldı.
