Uzun süreli sigara kullanımının oksidatif stres üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Koronerleri normal ve tek risk faktörü olarak sigara içen hastalarda sigaranın oksidatif strese olan etkisini incelemeyi amaçladık.Materyal ve metod: Çalışmaya hastanemiz koroner anjiyografi servisine koroner anjiyografi için başvuran koronerleri normal olan ardışık 54 hasta dahil edildi. Koroner arter hastalığı için tek risk faktörü olarak sigara içen hastalar Grup I, n=29; ortalama yaş: 47±11 ve kontrol grubu olarak hiçbir risk faktörü olmayan hastalar Grup II, n=25; ortalama yaş: 51±12 yıl alındı. Alınan kan örnekleri serumlarına ayrıldıktan sonra Erel tarafından geliştirilen yöntemle Total antioksidan sevye TAS , Total oksidan seviye TOS düzeylerine bakıldı ve Oksidatif stres indeksi OSİ hesaplandı. Tüm bireylerden çalışmaya katılmayı kabul ettiklerine dair onay formu alındı.Bulgular: TAS kontrol grubunda daha yüksek iken 0,80±0,12 ve 0,86±0,13, P= 0,044 , TOS sigara içen grupta daha yüksekti 11,02±1,51 ve 9,97±1,36, P=0,010 . Total oksidan seviyenin total antioksidan sevyeye oranlanması ile bulunan oksidatif stres indeksi sigara içen grupta daha yüksekti 1,41±0,261 ve 17±0,16, P=0,0002 .Sonuç: Uzun süreli sigara kullanımı total antioksidan sevyelerinde azalma ve total oksidan düzeyinde artışa neden olarak birçok kronik hastalığın patogenezinde yer alan oksidatif stres artışına yol açtığı tespit edilmiştir

The effect of long-term smoking on oxidative stress

Abstract

Aim: We investigated the effect of smoking on oxidative stress in smokers with normal coronary arteries. Material and methods: Consecutive 54 patients with normal coronaries who admitted to our hospital's coronary angiography service for coronary angiography were included to study. Patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 n=29, mean age, 47 ± 11 years composed of patients with only one risk factorsmoking- for coronary artery disease; and Group 2 n=25, mean age, 51 ± 12 years composed of patients with no risk factors for coronary artery disease. Serum samples were investigated by Erel method about total antioxidant level and total oxidant level and oxidative stress index was calculated. All participants gave informed consent. Results: While Total antioxidant levels were higher in control group 0,80±0,12 and 0,86±0,13, P= 0,044 , Total oxidant levels were higher in smokers 11,02±1,51 and 9,97±1,36, P=0,010 . Oxidative stress index which could be calculated by dividing Total oxidant level to Total antioxidant level, was higher in smokers 1,41±0,261 and 17±0,16, P=0,0002 .Conclusion: By causing total antioxidant levels reduction and total oxidant level increase long-term smoking can lead to oxidative stress which occurs in the pathogenesis of several chronic diseases
