Parotis bezi tümörleri: 207 vakanın analizi Türkçe

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada parotis bezi tümörlerinin klinik özellliklerini, cerrahi tedavisini ve histopatolojisinin değerlendirilmesini amaçladık.Materyal ve metod: Parotis bezindeki kitle nedeniyle 2005 ile 2012 yılları arasında parotidektomi yapılan 207 hastanın klinik verileri retrospektif olarak incelendi.Bulgular: Hastaların 130'u erkek %63 , 77'si %37 kadın idi. Hastaların yaş ortalaması 42,5 olarak saptandı. Hastaların en sık başvuru nedeni parotis bölgesinde kitleydi. Süperfisiyal parotidektomi 172 hastaya, total parotidektomi 29 hastaya ve radikal parotidektomi 6 hastaya yapıldı. Oniki hastaya ayrıca boyun diseksiyonu yapıldı. Opere edilen hastaların cerrahi spesimenlerinin histopatolojik incelemesinde 79 olguda pleomorfik adenom, 43 olguda Whartin tümörü, 28 olguda diğer benign tümörler, 12 olguda mukoepidermoid karsinom, 4 hastada adenoid kistik karsinom, 7 hastada lenfoma, 7 hastada granulomatoz inflamasyon, ve 18 hastada inflamasyon olarak geldi.Sonuç: Parotis tümörlerinin tedavisi genel olarak cerrahidir. Histopatolojik tanı, tümörün evresi ve derecesi önemlidir. Gerektiğinde boyun diseksiyonu uygulanmalıdır

Parotid gland tumors: an analysis of 207 cases

Abstract

Background: In this study we aimed to evaluate the clinical presentation, surgical treatment and histopathologic findings of the parotid gland tumors.Methods: Medical records of 207 patients who had parotidectomy due to a mass in the parotid gland between 2005 and 2012 were reviewed retrospectively.Results: There were 130 male 63% and, 77 female patients 37% . The mean of age of the patients was 42.5. A mass in the parotid area was the most frequent presenting symptom. Superficial, total and radical parotidectomy was performed in 172, 29 and 6 patients, respectively. A neck dissection was also applied in 12 patients. Histopathological examination of the surgical specimens revealed pleomorphic adenoma, warthin's tumor, other benign tumors, mucoepidermoid carcinoma, adenoid cyctic carcinoma, lymphoma, granulomatous inflammation, and inflammation in 79, 43, 28, 12, 4, 7, 7 and 18 patients, respectively.Conclusion: The general treatment for the parotid tumors is surgery. Histopathological diagnosis, stage and degree of the tumor are crucial. Neck dissection should be performed when necessary
