Comparison of serum ferritin levels between newly diagnosed and clinical follow-up patients with metabolic syndrome

Abstract

Background: The purpose of this study was to compare serum ferritin levels between newly diagnosed and clinical follow-up patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods: Fifty-one newly diagnosed patients with metabolic syndrome according to the NCEP ATP III criteria were compared 179 patients with metabolic syndrome who have receiving conventional insulin resistance therapy. Results: Ferritin and HOMA-IR levels in newly diagnosed patients with metabolic syndrome were significantly higher than clinical follow-up patients with metabolic syndrome both p
